If you’re on a restricted diet due to food allergies, shopping for allergy friendly food at Target is a great place to start. Their prices are relatively affordable and they carry a variety of products.

Target carries many brands that are made in a nut-free facility, Top 8 Allergen Free facility, or Top 9 Allergen Free facility.

WHAT IS TARGET?

Target is an American retail corporation and the eighth largest retailer in the United States. They are a one stop shop where you can find many items.

I went on a mission to Target to find all the allergy friendly and nut-free products I could, took photos, and listed them below for you.

When you’re thrust into the world of food allergies, it can be overwhelming. There’s a lot to learn until you figure out your new normal.

Make a note of some of these brands below, do some additional research for your particular allergens before heading to the store and you’ll be on your way to making life just a little bit easier.

3. GUITTARD SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS

Made on equipment also used to make milk chocolate; not suitable for individuals with milk allergies.

Made in a facility that is free of peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat, shellfish, and fish. Milk, white, and dark chocolates and compounds are run on shared equipment that is changed over between items but the equipment cannot be washed with water for Food Safety reasons.

BAKING GOODS AT TARGET

Flour is non-explanatory. Everyone needs flour on hand to make just about anything.

Look for this allergy friendly food at Target:

KING ARTHUR FLOUR

Our Signature Flours are All-Purpose Flour, Bread Flour, Self-Rising Flour, Whole Wheat Flour, White Whole Wheat Flour, Sprouted Wheat Flour, and their organic versions.

Apart from wheat, no U.S. top 8 allergens are added to our Signature Flours. Our Signature Flours packaged in paper bags are produced in a facility where wheat is the only allergen in production. All our flours are Non-GMO, are never bleached or bromated, don’t have vitamin and mineral enrichments added to them, and have no artificial preservatives added.

Resealable Packaged Signature Flours: Unlike other sizes of our Signature Flours, those with resealable flour pouches are produced on equipment that also processes eggs, milk, soy, almonds, and coconut.

Look for these allergy friendly items at Target:

1. SMARTY PANTS
All SmartyPants products are allergen-free. That means we’re free of the top 8 major allergens – milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nut allergens, fish allergens, shellfish, soy, and wheat. We’re also non-GMO and gluten-free, and do not use any synthetic colors, artificial flavors, or artificial sweeteners.

All SmartyPants products are free of tree nut allergens.

Some of our products, however, are coated with medium chain triglycerides derived from coconut oil. The coconut oil we use is highly refined and fractionated. According to the FDA, consuming highly refined oils derived from major food allergens by allergic individuals does not appear to be associated with allergic reactions.
