EASY NUT-FREE GRANOLA
This easy nut-free granola recipe makes a perfect topping for a yogurt parfait, or on it’s own as a snack.
Granola is delicious at breakfast or as a healthy afternoon snack.
Most store-bought granolas have questionable ingredients and excessive amounts of added sugar and fats. It’s actually very easy to make your own granola and include only ingredients that are safe for your allergies and healthier in general! Thanks to my friend Olivia for the granola idea!
This recipe makes a batch of nut-free granola easily in one bowl. Your home will smell amazing!
As written, this granola contains pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds for added protein, but feel free to leave them out if you choose.
You can also optionally add some dried fruit, such as dried blueberries, to your cooled granola mix or when you’re about to dig in.

WHAT IS GRANOLA MADE OF?
Typically granola is a mix of oats, nuts, seeds, and sweetener. However, we will be making our granola nut-free. Feel free to leave out the seeds if you wish.
Some granolas may also have dried fruit or chocolate as well.
WHAT TO EAT WITH GRANOLA
The simplest way to eat granola is just like any cold cereal. Fill a bowl with homemade nut-free granola and top with any type of milk. Dig in!
Crunchy granola can also be used as a topping for:
- yogurt parfait
- chia pudding
- acai bowls
- smoothie bowls
- oatmeal
- cottage cheese
- fresh fruit
IS NUT-FREE GRANOLA HEALTHY?
It depends. Homemade granolas can be made healthy if you make it with whole grains and little to no sugar and fat.
Many store bought granolas contain a lot of added sugar and fats (oils). It’s important to choose wisely and examine the ingredients and nutrition facts.
WHICH GRANOLA BARS ARE HEALTHY?
When we think about granola, we often look for portable granola bars as they are convenient when you’re on the go.
Pre-packaged granola bars often contain added sugar and fats (oils). Put on your detective hat and examine the ingredients and nutrition facts.
If you have nut allergies or other food allergies, make sure to look at facility information to determine what will work for your family.

HOW TO MAKE NUT-FREE GRANOLA
This nut-free granola recipe can be made simply in one bowl.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
Evenly spread mixture on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Press down to flatten.
Bake until lightly toasted and crunchy.
Let cool. Be patient!
Break into pieces and enjoy!
Feel free to add some dried fruit, such as dried blueberries, to your cooled granola mix.
ALLERGEN FRIENDLY GLUTEN FREE GRANOLA
If you are sensitive to gluten, you may want to use oats that are from a certified gluten free facility.
Easy Nut-free Granola
Homemade granola is easy to make with only the healthy ingredients you want!
Ingredients

old fashioned rolled oats -

Cup
applesauce -

Tablespoons
flaxseed meal -

Tablespoons
hemp seed hearts
(optional) -

tsp
cinnamon -
½
tsp
allspice -
¼
Cup
maple syrup -
1
tsp
vanilla extract -
1
tsp
oil -
½
Cup
pumpkin seeds
sprouted (optional)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350F.

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together.

Evenly spread mixture on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Press down to flatten.

Bake for 15 minutes or until it looks lightly toasted.

Cool completely for 1 hour.

Break granola into pieces.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 6 months. Granola can be frozen for maximum freshness.
Recipe Notes
- Feel free to add some dried fruit, such as dried blueberries, to your cooled granola mix.
- The pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds can be excluded if they don’t work for you.
