Easy Nut-free Granola

Homemade granola is easy to make with only the healthy ingredients you want!

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ Cup applesauce
  • 2 Tablespoons flaxseed meal
  • 2 Tablespoons hemp seed hearts (optional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp allspice
  • ¼ Cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp oil
  • ½ Cup pumpkin seeds sprouted (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.

  2. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together.

  3. Evenly spread mixture on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Press down to flatten.

  4. Bake for 15 minutes or until it looks lightly toasted.

  5. Cool completely for 1 hour.

  6. Break granola into pieces.

  7. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 6 months. Granola can be frozen for maximum freshness.

Recipe Notes

  • Feel free to add chocolate chips before baking.
  • For a chocolate granola, try adding a scoop of your favorite chocolate collagen powder.
  • The pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds can be excluded if they don't work for you.
  • For a fruity granola, add some dried fruit, such as dried blueberries, to your cooled granola mix.
