THE ALLERGIC PRINCESS and THE ALLERGIC PRINCE
From the time my son had his first allergic reaction at 2 years old, I have been on the lookout for allergy books for him. It’s the best way for kids to understand what is happening. They can look at the pictures and listen to the story about someone else who is allergic as well… someone they could relate to, be it a chipmunk, a cow, a cute kid, etc.
IS PEANUT THE ONLY ALLERGY?
Why are all the kids’ allergy books about peanuts? My son is allergic to peanuts, cashews, almonds, hazelnuts, and walnuts. My daughter is allergic to peanuts, milk, cashews, pistachios, sesame seeds, shrimp, and salmon.
Seriously, I had such a hard time picking a book for them. Each time after I read any book to my kids, I’d have to supplement, and remind my kids that they have different allergic foods. Yes, both my kids are allergic to peanuts, but there’s a whole list of allergic foods for each of them as well.
We have a collection of EIGHT BOOKS and none of them served my need perfectly.
ADAPTABLE KIDS ALLERGY BOOK
Not to be defeated, my daughter and I have created the perfect book for your child. The main character will have the same allergic foods and allergic symptoms as your own child.
